A little nervous?
  • If there was ever a time to try something new, it's NOW!
  • We love beginners! Please let us know if you are new to the practice!
We LOVE beginners and are here to support you by:
  • giving you ideas for making the practice work for you,
  • demonstrating some poses,
  • and/or giving you space to do your thing.
MASKS:
We welcome anyone who wishes to wear a mask. Masks are optional for our classes. Please do not come to the studio if you have had a fever within the last 48 hours or are experiencing potentially infectious illness symptoms. (Hop into a virtual class instead!)

CLASS TEMP:
At Wild Ember, we like to keep things pretty toasty, without melting everyone into a puddle. :)  Our heated classes are in the mid 80s, and our warm classes are in the mid 70s. Unheated classes are set at a seasonally appropriate temperature.

Curious about Virtual?
Have you ever rolled out of bed for a live class in your PJs?
Life. Changing.

Have you ever squeezed in a 45 min class during your lunch break, and still had time for a shower?
Done, and done!

Will this be "just another zoom meeting"?  Nope!
  • Other than the very beginning and end of class, you'll be on your mat, doing your own thing.
  • You will be listening to your instructor's verbal cues.
  • You might look up from time to time to see a demonstration.
  • Set up your space, light a candle or burn some incense, and immerse yourself in your practice.

CAMERA ON OR OFF?
  • We encourage you to keep your camera ON during our virtual classes.
  • This helps the teacher to check in with you, and it also allows us to connect as a community.
  • Everyone's sound will be muted during class, but we'd love to hear from you at the beginning and end of class.
  • If you do not want to put on your camera, it is not required. You can also check in with the teacher via the chat on zoom.

What do I need for class?
IN PERSON:
Just a yoga mat! Don't have one yet? Borrow one of ours and then we'd be happy to help you figure out what kind of mat to get.

VIRTUAL:
You don't need anything fancy to practice yoga! There are plenty of items at home that you can use to support your practice.

YOGA:

• Yoga mat or a rug that doesn't move around very much.
• Yoga blocks, thick hard cover books, water bottles, a chair, stool, couch, bed or coffee table.
• Yoga strap, a long towel, dog leash, pajama/yoga pants.

• Yoga bolster, thick cushions, pillows or even a stuffed animal!
• A blanket is nice to have nearby too. So is a pet. And water.

FITNESS:
Water, optional weights.

CHAIR YOGA:
A sturdy chair and a towel or yoga strap.

MEDITATION:
A comfortable place to sit or lay down.
